WHAT IS BULK BILLING?

Bulk billing refers to payment received from the government, commonly known as Medicare, to the chiropractor of your choice. 

High Road Chiropractic processes all bulk-billed payments onsite with our HICAPS terminal.

 

CAN CHIROPRACTORS BULK BILL?

Yes, if the patient qualifies under Medicare regulations.

 

Medicare will allow green card holders limited access to bulk billed radiographs (x-rays) if the chiropractor refers to specialist radiographic centres.  Also, Medicare green card holders that are referred to the chiropractor by their general medical practitioner (GP) with a special type of referral called an Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan can utilise up to 5 bulk billed consultations per year.

DOES HIGH ROAD CHIROPRACTOR  DO BULK BILLING?

Yes.  High Road Chiropractic Centre does bulk bill Medicare.  Unfortunately, not all patients qualify for this.

WHAT IS A GAP FEE?

Commonly referred to as the "Gap", is the short fall between a practice's fees and the Medicare rebate.

At High Road Chiropractic, no Gap is charged.

WHAT IS CDM?

The Government of Australia, within its Medicare department, has a scheme called Chronic Disease Management (CDM). In short, CDM is available for people with chronic injuries or illnesses.  The condition must be present, or likely to be present, for more than six (6) months.  The injury prognosis should be that treatment has a high probability of being beneficial to the patient.Your General Practitioner determines CDM eligibility and each referral lasts a year from date of issue. For referrals that extend from one calendar year to the next, repeat referrals do not allow a recipient more than a maximum of 5 consultations within each calendar year.

 

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR CDM?

IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE TO CDM?

If you don’t qualify for an CDM referral or need more than 5 treatments, and you possess a Senior Citizen, DVA or Healthcare card, we can discuss other arrangements to reduce the cost of the treatment you require.
